Ukraine ministry
Hope and healing in Ukraine.
Supporting an ongoing ministry and helping build a rehabilitation center.
Faith in action
Building a place for healing and restoration.
Light to the World Church is helping lead the effort to build a rehabilitation center in Ukraine for people who need moral, psychological, emotional, and spiritual support.
The center will serve military personnel and their families, children who have lost parents in the war, and people who have suffered violence during the invasion.
Together with our partners, we are working to turn compassion into lasting care.
The story behind the center
A calling our church is carrying forward.
Since the beginning of the war, Light to the World Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has mobilized support for people in Ukraine alongside American churches, especially Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls. Church administrator Yakov (Jacob) Danilko has organized this work.
A heartbreaking conversation with a Ukrainian teenager who had brutally lost his father in the war brought the need for a place of healing into sharp focus. Jacob shared the vision for a rehabilitation center with Pastor Mykola Fedorovych and Oleh Maksymets of Living Water Church in Klesiv, Rivne region. They shared that same vision and a deep desire to see this place of restoration become a reality.
Pastors Val and David of Westminster Presbyterian Church embraced the project and continue to help. Jacob traveled to Ukraine in September 2024 to work through construction plans with local partners. In October 2024, Pastor Mykola Fedorovych, who oversees construction, reported that work had begun.
Current status & how you can help
Help bring the center to life.
With God’s blessing and the generosity of supporters, substantial work has already been completed. Financial support is still needed to finish construction and make the center fully operational.
Photos and videos document the work completed so far. We are grateful to everyone supporting the project through giving and prayer.
